Facelift
Deep creases, loose facial skin, jowls, and slacking neck muscles can be corrected by Dr. Barttelbort through facelift. For patients with diminished skin elasticity due to environmental factors or aging, facelift provides significant aesthetic improvement by surgically lifting, smoothing and tightening both skin and the underlying musculature to achieve a more youthful appearance.
The Facelift Procedure
At a nearby La Jolla area surgical facility, the facelift procedure begins with incisions along the hairline. Next, Dr. Barttelbort tightens and secures the facial muscles with sutures, then lifts and removes excess skin. The remaining skin is then smoothed, redraped, and secured with sutures or small surgical clips. If necessary, neck lift can be performed in conjunction with facelift to provide additional rejuvenation of the chin and neck. Neck lift requires only a small incision under the chin through which Dr. Barttelbort removes excess fat and skin, and tightens the neck muscles, effectively eliminating the appearance of jowls, neck bands and sagging.

Dr. Barttelbort offers rhinoplasty, which can improve the overall appearance of the face by reshaping the nose to make it more proportionate with surrounding facial features. The Rhinoplasty Procedure

The Eyelid Surgery Procedure

Endoscopic Brow Lift

The Endoscopic Brow Lift Procedure
During a brow lift procedure, an endoscope, which is a specialized surgical tool with a small video camera attached, is inserted below the skin through a few small incisions along the hairline. Using the images from the scope as his guide, Dr. Barttelbort then separates the skin from the underlying bone and reduces the muscle bulk between the brows that causes deep furrows. Next, he lifts and tightens the skin and carefully removes the excess. The incision is then closed with sutures. To provide additional enhancement, brow lift is often combined with other facial procedures, including facelift and eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).

Minimally Invasive Facelift Options
Mid-Facelift with the Endotine Midface™ Device
For patients who do not require a full facelift, but have begun to notice drooping of the cheeks and mid-face, Dr. Barttelbort offers mid-facelift using the Endotine Midface™ device. With this device, Dr. Barttelbort can quickly complete the lift procedure and ensure secure results. Unlike traditional facelift surgery, only two incisions hidden behind the hairline are required to complete the mid-facelift. Dr. Barttelbort slips the device through the incision and down along the side of the face until he reaches the cheek. He then secures the sagging cheek tissue to the small projections at the end of the device and then gently lifts the mid-face area to its youthful position. When the procedure is complete, Dr. Barttelbort closes the incision leaving the Endotine Midface™ device intact to hold the tissue in place as it heals. When healing is complete, the device is broken down and reabsorbed by the body. Results achieved with the Endotine Midface™ device are impressive; patients emerge from the procedure looking years younger without extensive surgery.

Restylane® Application
Restylane® is an FDA-approved dermal filler which reduces the appearance of facial wrinkles and adds volume to the lips. When injected beneath wrinkles with a fine needle, Restylane® causes skin cells to bond with water molecules, plumping the skin and diminishing the severity of the wrinkles. Restylane® can also be applied along the lip border to reduce creasing and restore youthful volume, or simply to enlarge the appearance of naturally thin lips. Laser Skin Resurfacing
